Dane got in trouble at school today. Not such a good idea at the beginning of the year when the teacher is sizing up each kid and possibly labeling them. The children were given the assignment of writing down something they were worried about. Dane told his teacher that he wasn't worried about anything. To this she responded that he could write something that he was only a little worried about. At this point the power struggle ensued. He started saying no to everything she was asking/telling him and she told him he would have to sit out during recess. Something in his mind that is tantamount to death. The "no" struggle continued until she told him that he would have to go talk to the principle. When he said no to this idea also, she said that he could call him instead. The principle and Dane made a deal over the phone that he could go to recess if he would do what the teacher asked and have a better attitude. So after this he finally sat down and wrote what he was worried about. Which was...... "that I have a mean teacher".

You go Dane! Honest to the end.
I'm worried Dane has a mean teacher too. Lucky for him, he's clever enough to outsmart her!
hilarious...tell it!
Oh no!! Out of the mouthes of babes!! Keep an eye on that teacher.
She sounds like a mean teacher! I can't believe that she would make him write what he was worried about...geez, some kids are just happy-go-lucky and they are lucky they don't have worries. I'd try and transfer him, but that's just me!!
LOL!!!! Love it. And if his teacher didn't get a laugh out of that, then I would be worried that she really is mean!
He's figured out how to get the last word. Good for him. That's pretty smart I say!
ha!
that is the best ever!
So Dane! I'm sure he'll love this story when he's an adult.
Hilarious - it is going to be a bumpy ride this year.
You HAVE to submit this to Reader's Digest. It is too funny.
I am pretty sure Dane won that one. That kid of yours is hilarious and pretty darn smart.

I love this story! Escondido Scnool? I have fond memories of the place . . . seems like ages ago! It reminds me when George Furr told Susannah "they are turning me into a robot!"
In her defense I love his teacher, she is really great with the kids and Dane was having a rough day that day. But thank you for the nice comments it's make me feel understood and loved.
Ha! Atta boy, Dane. He is so good.
xo
Tell Dane I'm in his corner and we can start a Facebook anti-fan page for his teacher if he really wants to.
Haha! That is too funny. Smart kid.
